WISDOM OF ANTS

If in any way you need inspiration or hope of doing better than you are now look at the ants …

Proverbs 6:6-8

“Go to the ant you sluggard, consider its ways and be wise. It has no commander, overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in the summer and gathers its food at harvest.”

When I was a kid I stepped on an ant accidently. I quickly discovered that these tiny creatures were not that easy to squish.

Somehow it crawled from under my foot undeterred from its path.

Other times I would put my foot in their path just to see what they would do. Instead of stopping or retreating they would either go around or crwal right over my foot. Again, they were undeterred from their path.

Even as a kid I could not help but respect these tiny insects.

Ants in many parts of the world are symbols of hard-work and cooperation.

One of the attributes that ants are well known for is they work as a team and do so harmonously because they communicate effectively and have a shared objective.

Ants are alot stonger than their size suggests. They can carry sticks and food twenty times their size which suggests that they should never be underestimated.

The Chinese see the ant as a dutiful worker because they perform all the necessary tasks in order to make the colony efficient and productive.

Ants are considered skillful and wise and worthy of imitation in every endeavor whether spiritual or mundane.

I think one of their more admirable attributes is that they are willing to put themselves at risk to protect their fellow ants.

Much has been written about ants because those who study them believe they have much to offer and we have much to learn from these adaptable and resourceful insects.

When you look at the mess that we as humans have created on this planet of ours – God could have saved himself a lot of headaches by stopping after he created the ant.
